Intro to GPS and Geocaching
Sunday, November 20, 2005

Delaware Geocachers conducted this program for the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation. Their booklet described the program this way: With a GPS unit you will never be lost again. Learn about this high-tech instrument that is growing in popularity. The GPS unit can record exactly where, how far and how fast you hiked. Geocaching is a new fun use of the GPS unit blending high-tech with nature. Caches are hiden and GPS coordinates are posted on www.geocaching.com. Anyone with a GPS unit is invited to search out the treasure, sign the log book and trade out trinkets. Learn the rules and regulations of this now-official actvity in Delaware State Parks. We will search out a few temporary training caches and then go for one of the caches hidden in White Clay Creek State Park.

A number of folks attended this event. Mike Ott, head of Delaware Geocachers, hosted the event and took the pictures. Do you see anyone you know?
