Runfrog has created a site that presents a number of challenges. Geocacher PRM visited this site in November of 2005, took this picture, and called it "The Easy Way". This gives you a hint about the kind of challenges that await you when you seek the site.
For the title of this cache Runfrog provides a verbal hint about its location. Delawarean's will probably be familiar with Middle Run County Park. It is also known as Middle Run Natural Area County Park and connects with the White Clay Creek State Park. For those not familiar with this spot, here are some driving directions.
Middle Run Park is near Newark off Possum Park Road by the intersection with Paper Mill Road. From Baltimore, head North on I-95 to HWY 896 which leads you to Newark, DE. From Philadelphia, begin on HWY 611 heading south for 3.5 miles. Turn right on I-676 (US 30) heading west for 1.0 miles. Turn left on HWY 76 heading south for 2.9 miles. Continue on HWY 291 heading southwest for 3.2 miles. Turn right on HWY 95 heading southwest for 34.1 miles. Turn right on HWY 896 heading north for 2.1 miles to Newark, DE.
That's all the hints we're going to give you. The rest of this search will require the coordinates (N39. 43.897 W 075 43.299), your GPS, and your determination. The first challenge will be deciding which way to travel. Runfrog explains: "The trail is not marked and is sometimes hard to find. You will experience fallen trees, sticky things, mud, maybe muggles, and falling comets".
Prm took a second picture in the general area of the cache. He called this one "Thorns". You'll see a lot of these while searching for this site. Delawarean's know that Delaware is a place where plants with thorns grow in abundance. During the spring and summer months they thrive. During the fall the leaves drop off making them a bit easier to spot but this site is one of those where long sleeves and gloves can prove to be very useful. Runfrog explains:
" I like to hide my caches in locations where one might run into sticky/pokey/sharp/pointed (take your pick) vines. Hey, can I help it if Multi-Flora rose grows like the weed it is?"
So, once you are at the coordinates, what is it you are trying to find? Runfrog advises: "The Cache is a carefully disguised cylinder, clearly marked "GEOCACHE"." As you can see Runfrog likes to leave a lot of room for speculation in his directions. There is one, through, where he is very specific.
"Do not drag/toss/carry the cache to a more pleasant location. And rehide it well!!!!!!!!!! You wouldn't want the next Cacher to actually enjoy this would you?
Actually the way Runfrog has designed this geocache will provide lots of enjoyment. This is one of those sites where, once you have found it, you will feel a real sense of accomplishment.
If you find this site to be as much fun as we do, you might want to visit other Runfrog sites. Check out the Caching in Delaware section of this web site for a listing of Delaware Cache sites sorted by the name of their creators. You'll discover that Runfrog has created six more. Care to find out how many of them feature "sticky" things?
